JANET JACKSON is a writer and editor and a poet of page, screen and microphone. She has written seriously since 1986, seeking poems that work whether declaimed loudly or whispered in the mind. She has published a collection (‘Coracle’, 2009), zines and chapbooks including ‘q finger’ (PressPress 2011), and a micro-collection in ‘Performance Poets’ (forthcoming, Fremantle Press). Janet writes songs and sometimes accompanies poems with guitar.

Janet often features at events, including the 2012 Tasmanian Poetry Festival, the 2010 Australian Poetry Centre festival at Goolwa, the 2009 Queensland Poetry Festival, Melbourne Overload 2007, and the 2006 and 2011 WA Poetry Festivals.

Janet edited David Barnes’s collection ‘Prayers Waiting for God’ (Mulla Mulla Press 2011) and Tineke Van der Eecken’s chapbook ‘Poetic Jewels’ (2011).

Janet’s work has appeared in print and online media including Westerly, Mattoid, BLAST, The West Australian, nthposition (UK) and Hamilton Stone Review (US). The National Library of Australia archives her website Proximity, www.proximitypoetry.com.
